Information from the Register

We cannot provide families with information from the Register

We are prohibited from providing information from the Register of Child Deaths, except in very limited circumstances to certain bodies or agencies.

Our legislation prevents us providing information we have sourced from records to the families of children who have died.

However, where appropriate, we can provide families with general information about our functions and advice about alternative avenues to seek information, such as the Coroner’s Court. Families can also make a complaint to the Ombudsman about an agency’s conduct in relation to a death by using our online complaint form or by contacting us.
